Do some deep cleaning

Never underestimate what a good scrub down can do. Especially after a long winter, power washing the house, porches and any walkways or pavement can make them look brand new! If you can’t get ahold of a power washer, you can still sweep and wipe everything down. Also, washing your windows (both inside and out) can make a major difference. Make sure to clean all of the hardware and window sills as well.

Liven up your porch with decor

You would be surprised at how easily you can pull together a few decorative items to add an extra touch to your front porch. Think outside of the box, and chances are you already have some things around the house that can be used. For instance, depending on the style of your home, rustic furniture can add an inviting touch. If you want to play it safe you can always add or update front door mats, pots, flowers, plants, door wreaths and lighting. Just don’t go overboard with decor. A cluttered front porch no longer looks inviting.

Check out your landscaping

Take a look at your landscaping and go to town getting rid of anything dead that won’t be making an appearance this spring. Removing all of the brown, dead foliage and replacing it with bright and colorful new flowers will immediately liven up your yard. Keep in mind you can always stick to potted plants or hangers if you are not interested in more time-intensive gardening. If you're getting ready to sell your home, spring to fall is typically the best time to sell so landscaping for the appropriate season is crucial. Add some fresh paint

A new coat of paint or a color update can make a world of difference. For instance, change up your front door with a fun spring color that will make all of your neighbors wish they had thought of it first! Just don’t draw your color inspiration from Easter egg dying. Refresh your house numbers

Have your house numbers faded to the point where you have to squint in order to make out what they say? This is a very inexpensive fix that can make a big difference in the appearance of your home. Plus, you want your friends to be able to find you when they are invited over for a backyard cookout!

Update or replace your mailbox

Is your mailbox looking a little sad? This is one of the first things that is seen in your front yard, so it gives guests that first impression. A fresh coat of paint could very well do the job, or if it’s far enough gone it may be time to make a trip to the hardware store for a brand new one.
